God's Everlasting Love
33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
Romans 8:33-34 ESV
Romans 8:28 ESV - 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Ephesians 4:13 ESV - 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Romans 8:35-36 ESV - 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."
Romans 8:32 ESV - 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV - 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Philippians 1:6 ESV - 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
1. The Father’s Justification
Romans 8:33 ESV - 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
Job 1:8-11 ESV - 8 And the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?" 9 Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for no reason? 10 Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face."
Philippians 2:13 ESV - 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
2. The Son’s Mediation
Romans 8:34 ESV - 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
1 Timothy 2:5 ESV - 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Four Aspects of the Son’s Mediation
1. Christ Jesus Died for Our Sins
2. Christ Jesus was Raised for Our Justification
3. Christ Jesus is Exalted at the Right Hand of God
4. Christ Jesus is Interceding for Us
Luke 22:31-32 ESV - 31 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Hebrews 7:25 ESV - 25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
